This weekend trip from Chennai covers the Grand Canyon of India at Gandikota and India’s second largest underground cave at Belum suitable for both leisure and adventure enthusiasts with light trekking and moderate adventure activities. Gandikota is an amazing place and is rightly called as “Grand Canyon of India” with River Pennar cutting through the mountain and running through Gorge which is shining because of red granite. Belum limestone cavern runs for 3.5 KM with traveler access up to 1.5 KM. It’s a must see place for everyone.

Highlights of trip:

• Hiking upto viewpoint and seeing the magnificent Gorge view. Climb up the boulders to reach top to see the top view of the Grand Canyon.
• Walking through ruined fort, listening to interesting stories and visiting photographic monuments

Detailed  Plan:

Day 0: We will do overnight journey to Gandikota in an AC Vehicle

Day 1:

• Reach Gandikota. Early check-in at camp-site, freshen up and have breakfast.
• We will take you to Gandikota Fort covering key monuments including Madhavaraya Temple, Jama Masjid, Granary, Ranganathaswamy Temple, Fort Entrance, and Jail. We will also narrate interesting stories around Gandikota Fort.
• After we complete the fort walk, we will climb up the boulders to see a grand top level view of the Gorge (true Grand Canyon View) on both east & west sides.
• We will come back for lunch. Post lunch, we will do a trek to view Mylavaram Reservoir from a viewpoint. Those who booked for Rappelling, will do Rappelling. Rappelling is climbing down from a 50 feet tall boulder. There is an easy technique that the trainer would teach and if you follow, you can get down easily.
• After trekking / Rappelling, we will reach back to the camp-site facing gorge & river pennar, relax and have dinner with camp-fire. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2:

• Sun-rise view from the campsite
• After freshening up, we will check out and leave the Hotel and reach Belum Caves.
• We will take pictures in front of a huge Buddha statue.
• Belum 1.5 KM underground cave walk with ramps and lights.
• Visit 2nd cave
• Start travelling by 10 PM after dinner

Day 3:

• Reach Chennai by 6 AM safely and comfortably with fine memories.

Cost:

Rs.4800 Per Person for the trip with twin sharing Tent stay with common washrooms

Rs.5700/- Per Person for a twin sharing AC Room stay,

Inclusions:

1. Start to return travel in an AC Vehicle
2. 2 Breakfast, 2 Lunch, 1 Dinner and coffee / tea.
3. Campsite triple sharing tented stay
4. Entry fees at Belum Caves

Exclusions:

1. Sunday Dinner,
2. Cost for Rappelling.
3. Anything not in inclusions

Notes: Schedule given is indicative. Experience and activities are subject availability. If KeyTerns is not doing the trip, guests will have the option to choose the next date or get 100% refund within 10 days of the trip date. Limited menu vegetarian food is served. Entry fee for foreigners will be at actuals. If a guest is unable to join the trip, 75% will be refunded if KeyTerns gets information from guests before 48 Hours of trip departure time.
